Askøybunad men
The bunad silver and silver buttons you need are:
- A neck button
- Cufflinks
- Breeches need three silver buttons
- One pair of knee buckles
- Ten silver buttons for the double-breasted vest
- Twelve silver buttons for the coat
- Shoe buckles, a knife and a watch with a watch chain complete the bunad
The men's bunad from Askøy is in black wool or fabric. The coat and vest have a high collar and are edged with a plum-colored lace to match the ladies bunad. The same plum color is repeated in the buttonholes. The vest is also made in the same fabric as the waist of the ladies bunad. The breeches have a front waistband and a regular fly. A white shirt, shoes, stockings and lace are also included. In the past, felt hats were also worn with the bunad.
