Bunad knives
In the old days, the Bunad knife was an eating utensil and a tool. Today it is only to bunad and party costume that we are allowed to carry the knife in public place. In earlier times, the knife was an important heirloom that passed into inheritance through many generations. If the sheath, handle and silver handles were in good condition, you could simply replace the blade if it became worn.
