And when you're about to spend money on a bunad with all the trimmings and such: Remember that it doesn't wear out quickly, nor does it need to be upgraded and updated often, as cell phones and the like do. In fact, when you've changed your cell phone many, many times, your costume can still be worn. And when you can no longer use it, someone else can inherit it! This can actually go on for several generations. And those who come after you will get to see how good quality you chose when you bought it and may praise you for it!

You're actually starting a tradition! And you'd be surprised how many people we talk to who are incredibly fond of their old silver, especially because they've inherited it from someone they love or loved! Many, many people bring in their silver to have it polished, or perhaps even repaired. So we feel privileged to see so many beautiful old family heirlooms! We ourselves think it's great when we can see how good taste our grandmother (or maybe it was her grandmother?) had; because she bought good quality silverware for her grandson. But of course, silverware that wasn't of such good quality has often not stood the test of time. And that's why they're not handed down.
