This ladies' bunad from Austevoll was made in 1984 after fifteen years of work. The bodice is in green velvet for married women and red cloth for unmarried women. The bunad is made of a dark blue woolen fabric. The chest cloth may be embroidered in wool and beaded or unbeaded. The belt often has the same pattern as the chest cloth. The married can also wear a gilded plaque belt. Head garments and stockings are also different for married and unmarried people.
