The bunad silver you need is:
- Neck brooch
- Cufflinks
- Shirt ring/horn ring
- 16 buttons for interior vest
- 16 buttons for outer vest
- Knee buckles
- 18-20 buttons for knee pants (always check with your tailor how many you need for the pants)
- 8-10 buttons for long trousers (always check with your tailor how many you need for the trousers)
- Shoe buckles, a bunad knife and a pocket watch complete the bunad
- For special occasions, a silver buckle is often attached to the hat
The men's bunad from Fana has a long tradition and a rich history. It has changed a lot from the 1800s to the present day. Around 1970, the old patterns were retrieved and all the bunads were revised, and today we see a rich selection of reconstructed bunads from several time periods. The picture shows just one of them.
