The bunad was developed by Østfold Women Farmer Association (Bondekvinnelag) and went into production in 1949. The bunad is made in blue or black fabric and has wool embroidery on the front and back. The embroidery for the bunad was designed by Halvdan Arnesen. The shirt is in white linen and has embroidered motifs on the collar, chest and cuffs. The hat and purse are made from the same fabric as the bodice and skirt, and have beautiful embroidery. Both a cape and a coat are made for the bunad.
