Nordmørsbunad men
The bunad silver you need is:
- Cufflinks
- Neck brooch
- 17-19 buttons for the breeches (check with your tailor for the exact number)
- 22 buttons for the coat
- 18 buttons for the vest
- Shoe buckles, a bunad knife and watch with a watch chain complete the bunad
All buttons are in brass, as well as the belt buckle and knee buckles.
Cufflinks and collars must be in oxidized silver.
The men's bunad from Nordmøre is made from reconstructions of old garments and represents the costume habits in Nordmøre from the first half of the 19th century. The coat is double- breasted with brass buttons and made in dark blue woolen cloth (lloden). There are two types of breeches, one in loden and one in embroidered moose hide. The vests are in red loden or in two-colored woolen damask. White shirt, suspenders, stockings and lace belong with this bunad. The head garment may either be a hat or a red cap. There's also a cape to be found for this bunad, sometihng that's not so common elsewhere in Norway.
