The bunad silver you need is:
- Neck ring/ripple ring or neck button
- Cufflinks
- 12 buttons for the vest
- 16 buttons for the coat
- 13 buttons for your breeches
- One pair of knee buckles
- 5 buttons for long trousers
- Shoe buckles, bunad knife and watch with a watch chain complete the bunad
The men's bunad from Valdres is shown here with a black shirt. This is the bunad that has been used the longest in Valdres. It has been in production since 1962 and has since been slightly modified. There are therefore some variations of this bunad today. Parts of the bunad are reconstructed copies from the mid-1800s. Short and long trousers are used, as well as plaid vest.
