Nord-Trønderbunad lady

The bunad silver you need is:

  • Brooch for the neck
  • Dish brooch for the shirt
  • Cufflinks
  • 2 pairs of hooks for the waist
  • Purse clasp
  • Buckle for cape
  • Shoe buckles, a bunad ring, earrings and a pocket watch complete the bunad

The bunad from Nord-Trøndelag was designed by Hjørdis Halmøy Floan and went into production towards the end of the 1930s. It is based on preserved costume material, but is not a direct copy.

Today, there are several variations of the bunad, and it is the choice of bodice that differs most. Two of the bodices are in wool damask, and one in light gilded silk fabric with a floral pattern. The skirt, shirt and pocket are the same for all variations. A headdress, scarf and cape are also included. The color of the bunad silver is oxidized.
