Nordfjordbunad men
The bunad silver you need is:
- Cufflinks
- Neck brooch
- 16 large buttons for the coat (14 front, 2 back)
- 6 small buttons for the sleeves of the coat
- 12 small buttons for the vest
- Breeches with a flap need 6 small buttons for the knee seam and 5 large buttons for the waistband (if it has a fly, you need one large button)
- The trousers need 5 buttons (if it has a fly, you need a large one)
- Shoe buckles, a bunad knife and watch with a watch chain complete the bunad
The men's bunad from Nordfjord dates from the early 1900s. There are two variations of coat in use today. One is cropped and looks a bit like a short tail suit with a joint and pockets at the back. The other model has no pockets and is completely straight. The bunad is made in blue and black. Both short and long trousers are used for the bunad.
