Voss wives bunad
The bunad silver you need is:
- Neck pin
- Glibb brooch
- Cufflinks
- Belt buckle
- Gold-plated silver plaques for the belt (you can also have a pair of bore pins on the belt as shown in the picture)
- Agnus dei with wide chain (valleys with wide chain)
- Shoe buckles, costume ring, earrings and pocket watch complete the costume
For many years, the bunad tradition in Voss has been very strong and the variations on shirt, apron, belt and cloth often had a personal touch. Today, the variations are not so great, but there is still a distinction between married and unmarried women. Married women wear a headdress and shirt with black stitching and skirt has a green border at the bottom. The bunad has a white apron. Married women are also the only ones who wear a boot belt and wide chain a dalar.
