The bunad was developed around the 1950s and was called the Sunnhordaland bunad, or girl's bunad from Stord, Fitjar and Bømlo. The bunads have small variations and it is only the details that distinguish them from each other. The waist piece is green, red or blue cloth and is lined with a lace in silk or wool. The bodice is black cloth, but has three different shapes. The chest cloth and belt is either embroidered or woven. The shirt is white and the apron is either all white, or dark blue with patterns. A head garment, cape and coat are also available for this Bunad. Bright and gilded silver is used for the bunad, but it is also common to use oxidized for the blue or green waist piece.
