Traditionally, Os and Fusa are considered to be the same bunad area, where the Hardanger bunad was used as a festive bunad for a long period. It is still in use in Os, but a new bunad was made in the 1950s on the basis of preserved costume material from the late 1800s. It is made in several variations with combinations of fabric and ribbon. The waist piece for the married is in green fabric, while the unmarried use red. The skirt itself is black with a red underskirt. The apron and shirt are in white linen or rough cotton or canvas fabric. The chest cloth and belt can have pearls, wool embroidery, or a combination. The belt is fastened with a buckle, but married women can also wear a silver belt.
