Most people choose oxidized silver for their Romeriksbunad, but you can also use gold-plated silver. When it comes to silver for Romeriksbunad, you don't need very much. The silver is mainly copied, or based on silver from the 18th century. It is cast silver; this was the most common technique at the time. The filigree pattern came into style in Norway a little later. (This is a fact many are unaware of!)
