The Skjælestakk was used in Tinn in the first half of the 19th century and is older than the Tinnbunad. On the Skjælestakk we see even more clearly than on the Tinnbunaden the similarities with Hallingdal and Numedal both in colors, stitching and silver. The majority of the silver can be found again later on Tinnbunaden. For example, the dish-brooch. Incidentally, the dish-brooch and rose-brooch are brooch models that originated back in the 14th century. The neck buttons and arm buttons (cufflinks) are also of the same types as for the Tinnbunad. On the other hand, the plaque belt, eyelets and cape-chain are all Skjælestakk silver, and almost never to be found on the Tinnbunad. The Skjælestakk uses more brass than the Tinnbunad.
