Trøndelag / Orkdalbunad lady
The bunad silver you need is:
- Bur brooch or bursprette (neck brooch)
- Cufflinks
- Ring brooch
- 2 pairs of hooks for the waist
- Dalar with wide chain (Angus dei) if you wish to use it
- Purse clasp
- Shoe buckles, bunad rings and earrings complete the bunad
The Trønderbunad was developed in the 1920s based on preserved garments from Trøndelag. Trøndelag is a very exciting bunad county with large geographical distances and therefore great local variations in bunads. Silver, on the other hand, does not vary as much. This is mostly because at the time, only city goldsmiths were allowed to work in precious metals. Thus, the silver used in Trøndelag was mostly made in Trondheim and had many similarities.
